What’s up

On 10th-11th March 2018, for the whole weekend, the second Hackathon of the Open4Citizens project in Italy will take place @Politecnico di Milano, again with the official endorsement of Comune di Milano, and notably of two City’s Aldermen: on Participation, Active Citizenship and Open Data, Mr Lorenzo Lipparini, and on Social Policies, Health and Rights Mr Pierfrancesco Majorino.

The event is entitled Services4MIgrants and will be dealing with the following challenge: “How can the ideation of new communication styles, the use of Open Data and the development of ICT help these ‘new citizens’ – the migrants – understand and get access to some bureaucratic procedures without knowing the language or being familiar with the particular dynamics of our Public Administration?

There will be a single award, for the best concept.

Registration is open until March 8th eob.

What’s history

On 17th-18th December 2016, for a duration of 30 consecutive hours, the first Hackathon event of the Open4Citizens project in Italy took place @Politecnico di Milano, having gained the official endorsement of Comune di Milano, and the political support of the City’s Alderman on Participation, Active Citizenship and Open Data, Mr Lorenzo Lipparini.

The event was entitled Milano@Work and dealt with the following challenge: “How can Open Data be supportive to the development of ICT applications helping citizens understand and cope with the ongoing transformations of the City?

There have been two awards, one for the best prototype and one for the best mock-up.
